TAEKWONDO PROGRAMS
KID PROGRAM (3-7)
Each session of the program consists of a 45 minutes class. The program introduces young kids to the basic techniques of Taekwondo. It also promotes the values of Taekwondo such as discipline, respect, self-confidence and self-defense. Our students learn to focus, listen, and gain confidence while sharpening their motor skills, increasing their flexibility, strength and endurance. Most importantly, we believe that our students learn while having fun doing the exercises. All children are taught at their own pace and are never pressured to perform beyond their capabilities. The curriculum changes every week to keep our youngsters interested.
JUNIOR PROGRAM (8-13)
Each session of the program consists of a 50 minutes class. The program continues to reinforce the martial art values of discipline, respect, self-control and self-esteem. It also help students to further improve their coordination, concentration, overall fitness and self-defense skills. As each individual advances in belt level, more complicated and advanced blocks, kicks and forms are learned and practiced. Through their practice at FMAC, our students get physically and mentally stronger and develop skills that can carry benefits at home and school.
ADULT PROGRAM (14 and up)
Each session of the program consists of a 50 minutes class. This program is a great opportunity for adults of all ages and levels to relieve stress from the pressures of everyday life, build up stamina and strength or get in shape while learning new skills. In this program, students are paired by levels and ages. As students gain more self-control, discipline and maturity, more advanced striking, sparring, self-defense techniques and weapons are learned and practiced. At FMAC, we also encourage advanced students to develop their leadership skills by teaching classes. Students teaching younger kids develop confidence, patience, and kindness. Through their practice at FMAC, our teen students become well-rounded and confident individuals with a positive attitude.
ALL AGES PROGRAM
Each session of the program consists of a 50 minutes class. The program accomodates students of all ages and levels with busy schedules. This program is perfect for families who want to spend time together while learning Taekwondo. It is a very rewarding experience for parents and children to train side by side and achieve higher levels together. In this program, students are paired by levels and/or ages; members of a family will be paired up together when possible and are taught the techniques and values of Taekwondo according to their level.
SPARRING PROGRAM
Each session of the program consists of a 50 minutes class. Students need to know the basic kicks and blocks in order to participate. For this reason, only yellow belt and above can join the sparring program. Sparring is an integral part of Taekwondo. It is extremely important in any Taekwondo student’s development and is a critical part of the belt testing. It allows the students to apply the techniques learned during classes and gain self-control, confidence and focus. The goal of sparring is not to beat the opponent with use of excessive force but to strategize and score points with the most accurate strikes to win the match. Sparring is practiced in the safest environment under strict supervision of a qualified instructor. Full protective gear is required for this class.
BLACK BELT PROGRAM
Each session of the program consists of a 50 minutes class. This program is for black belt students. It helps the students to master all their acquired techniques and be able to teach to other students. It also teaches students more advanced kicks and forms (Poomsae), weapons (Nunchaku, short stick, long staff), self-defense and board breaking techniques.
